Managers in Practice Conference – Additional Places
Due to strong demand, we have now expanded capacity and reopened registration for our Managers in Practice Conference, offering a limited number of additional places.
ASPIRE – General Practice Partnership Network
ASPIRE is a six-month development programme designed to support emerging and early-career General Practice partners with the non-clinical realities of partnership, including leadership, finance, workforce and practice management.
Running across six evenings from September 2026 to March 2027, the programme offers practical learning, peer support and dedicated development time to help strengthen confidence and capability in partnership roles. Places are limited to 20, with attendance expected across all six sessions. Applications close on 10 June 2026.
Quality Assurance
Is your practice ready to take learners?
Practices and PCNs that host learners today are helping to develop the workforce they may recruit tomorrow. Achieving NHSE Quality Assurance (QA) status is the first step towards becoming an approved learning environment, enabling organisations to host a range of learners and trainees in addition to demonstrating your commitment to high-quality education and placements.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Training Hub Quality Assurance Team supports practices and PCNs through every stage of the process, from the initial self-assessment through to gaining your formal recognition. If your organisation is not yet quality assured, now is the ideal time to start.
Becoming QA approved can help strengthen your future workforce pipeline, enhance recruitment opportunities, and formally recognise your practice or PCN as a quality learning environment. Contact the team to find out more.

GP Team News
First Connect – Thriving Beyond Post-CCT
Open to newly qualified GPs in Coventry and Warwickshire – and those who will CCT in 2026. Join us for an informal, practical event designed for you!
Get real advice on how to make your first years in General Practice work for you and hear from GPs who have been in your shoes – and learn what they wish they had known. Also, take the opportunity to network and connect with peers and more experienced local GPs. Expect short, interactive sessions, relatable speakers and plenty of takeaways to help you settle in, grow your career, and feel confident about your next steps.
Parental Leave Support Network
The network is designed to bring together Coventry and Warwickshire GPs who are approaching, having or have recently completed time away from practice due to the arrival of their baby (or babies), with the aim to provide networking opportunities and support for soon-to-be and new GP parents within Coventry and Warwickshire.
FY2 GP Quality Charter
If you are an FY2 GP Supervisor, please take a moment to benchmark yourselves as a practice/supervisor.
This is a deanery-wide charter, and can be helpful for you to reflect on best practices when hosting FY2s in your practice. If you have any further questions, please contact c.boyson@nhs.net (FY2 TPD Lead)

Congratulations to our Student Nursing Associates!
The Training Hub Nursing Team would like to congratulate Alice Copperthwaite, Elaura Powell and Jessica Reay for completing their apprenticeship!
The Training Hub Nursing team would like to thank all our practices who are supporting our future workforce by hosting placements for Student Nurses, Student Nursing Associates and Return to Practice Nurses. These placements provide valuable exposure to General Practice, help build the future workforce pipeline and support recruitment. If any practices are interested in hosting student nurses, or learning more about the process and the support the Training Hub can offer, please contact us.
Careers Event – Promoting General Practice
The Training Hub Nursing Team recently attended a nursing careers marketplace at Coventry University, joining a wide range of organisations from across primary, community and secondary care to engage with nursing students.
Throughout the event, the team showcased the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available within General Practice, highlighting the vital role nurses play in delivering patient care within our local communities. The marketplace provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of General Practice nursing careers, answer questions, challenge misconceptions, and inspire the next generation of nurses to consider a future in General Practice.
