GPN News

Welcome to the Training Hub Nursing team!

We would like to welcome Helena Paolozzi and Lucy Kennedy to the Training Hub Nursing team. Helena and Lucy will be joining us as our Education and Development Nurses for Rugby and South Warwickshire respectively.

Student Nursing in General Practice

A student nurse placement programme was ran by our Nursing team over the last 8 weeks, giving nursing students from Coventry University the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a general practice setting.

The programme, developed by Helena (Wider Workforce Fellow) and Kay, began on Tuesday 17 February and is ran eight weeks, with sessions taking place each Tuesday at The Alliance Practice in Foleshill. Building their understanding of general practice, the students explored career opportunities and presented on their time in practice to peers and colleagues.

A second cohort of students have now started their placements in general practice, and we look forward to updating you as the students progress. To take part in this scheme, either by hosting a future student, or sharing your time, please get in touch with the Training Hub.
