Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand the basic interpretation of a FBC, when to repeat, escalate and manage simple anaemias.
  • Overview of the link between organs and their relevant blood tests.
  • Review the links between drug groups and the monitoring needed for safe practice and prescribing
  • Develop an awareness of why certain tests are appropriate within chronic disease groups.
  • Examine the links between national guidance e.g., NICE and professional judgement
  • Raised awareness of ongoing development of practice and professional accountability within this field
