- How to take a “good consultation”
- To gain a better understanding of how to diagnose and treat certain minor illnesses
- To gain a wider knowledge of medicine management, when to prescribe and what to prescribe
- To gain a better understanding of when to initiate tests which may help with the management of the illness
- Develop knowledge on how to discuss the patient’s options and proposed plan of management with them
- To know when to refer a patient to see another health professional
- Allows discussion of relevant practice problems and their solutions
- Understand the importance of ongoing professional development
