There is essential pre-course preparation required for this course, as detailed in the booking process below.

Candidates must read the pre-course workbook, as there will be multiple choice quizzes (MCQs) to check knowledge as part of the blended learning approach to the session. The session will involve an anonymous MCQ, practical demonstration (4stage approach) and then time for candidates to practice and be assessed in simulation.

Once deemed safe in simulation you must then be observed in practice by a member of staff (band 4 and above) who is competent and confident in venepuncture. They will decide if you are competent to perform the procedure in practice.

Although the cost of this course is being funded via CW Training Hub, delegates will need to pay for parking. If delegates are more than 15 minutes late for the start of the course they may not be allowed into the course, so please get there in good time.  If delegates fail to cancel at least 48 hours prior to the course an administration fee will be charged of £25.00.

Please note that your place needs to be booked by 31st May to enable GEH to set you up for your pre-course learning.
