In line with the NICE Guidelines NG19, (2015, updated 2019) Diabetic Foot Problems Prevention and Management, this 90 minute update session will highlight the main aspects of how to effectively assess the feet of people with diabetes when attending for their annual review.
Following a refresher on the important aspects of a foot assessment, this short course will use a case study approach, to demonstrate the various foot problems that can occur. This will support delegates to apply their new and existing knowledge of diabetic feet with the aim of providing a safe environment to ask any questions or concerns they may have.
The main aim of this session is to provide reassurance that delegates are practicing safely in terms of foot risk classification and when to refer to other/ and or emergency services.
