Please join us for this vital 3 hour session, designed specifically for our region. As part of our work to support patients and communities, we may come into contact with people having suicidal thoughts, or people in crisis.
This evidence-based and practical training will give you the confidence and practical skills to recognise warning signs, respond compassionately and to signpost people to the right support.
Here’s what you will learn:
- Recognising risk factors and warning signs for suicide
- Effective communication and intervention skills adapted for health care environments
- Local signposting and resource mapping specific to our area
- Self-care and maintaining boundaries when supporting others
We will use the most up-to-date evidence-based suicide prevention interventions alongside practical, locally relevant resources. This means you will leave with both knowledge and some practical ‘next steps’. This training will increase your confidence and ability to respond appropriately when it counts the most.
Your contact details will be shared with Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind.
Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments to be able to attend this programme. Please specify any requirements you may have.
This event is funded, through the Training Hub, by public money. Non-attendance therefore comes at a cost to patients, the NHS, and the public. Spaces at our events might be limited and your absence may prevent others from benefiting from the opportunity. If you are no longer able to attend, please notify us by replying to this email as soon as possible. For cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the course start date and all ‘no-shows’, we reserve the right to charge a £50.00 administration fee.
