About the MAGIC project
MAGIC was developed to help General Practice teams prepare for acute emergencies through realistic simulation and practical checklists designed for the environment in which they work.
In-situ simulation takes place in a team’s usual working environment, using its own equipment, systems and processes. It gives clinical and non-clinical colleagues an opportunity to practise together safely, clarify roles and identify changes that may improve the team’s response during a real emergency.
The approach was developed by GPs for General Practice. It includes the GP Quick Reference Handbook, standardised simulation scenarios and a Train the Trainer model that supports local delivery.

was the average usefulness rating given to the MAGIC checklists.

About the GP Quick Reference Handbook
The GPQRH contains a consistent set of checklists to support decision-making when a patient becomes acutely unwell in a General Practice setting.
The handbook includes:
