What is the Carers Support Network?
Supporting GPs with Caring Responsibilities in Coventry & Warwickshire
The Carers Support Network has been developed to support GPs in Coventry & Warwickshire who balance clinical work alongside caring responsibilities.
Many colleagues are managing professional commitments while also caring for others with additional needs, ageing relatives, partners, or other dependants. These responsibilities can be ongoing, complex, and at times unpredictable.
The network provides a supportive space for GPs to connect with peers who understand the realities of balancing work and caring, while also offering practical resources, signposting, and access to local support.
What the network offers
- Monthly informal coffee meet-ups – peer-led drop-in sessions with no formal agenda.
- Closed WhatsApp support group – peer support, practical tips, and signposting.
- Signposting and practical support – flexible working guidance and carers support resources, mentoring offers, health and wellbeing.
- Eligibility – GPs on the performers list working or planning to work in Coventry & Warwickshire with caring responsibilities.
