This is a 90 minute training session that covers the following topics:
- Terminology
- Issues faced by trans people
- Hate crime
- Mental health
- The process of transitioning
- Challenging transphobic language
- How to make your service safe, welcoming and accessible for trans people
- How to be an ally to trans people
The training is delivered in an informal way, with plenty of interaction. The discussion is kept open and participants are encouraged to have an opinion and share their experiences.
Copies of the slideshow presentation and a glossary of LGBT+ terminology will be provided to each delegate. Certificates are also provided.
